坚持理论研究与实践应用融合，在环境评价领域具备长期教学、研究和实践经验。重点研究方向围绕极地环境和城市光环境评价与管理。承担并完成第27次南极科学考察站基环境任务现场执行任务，担任第29、30、31、32次南极科学考察站基环境项目（同济大学承担任务）执行负责人。创建并领衔我国建筑光环境评价实践经验最丰富的研究团队，提出并建立反射光影响评价新理论、模型和模拟分析技术。截止2024年底，完成案例超过400项；代表性超过300米项目5项，超过200米项目8项；长期为国内外知名设计事务所、建筑设计单位、建设开发主体提供技术支持。
