同济大学空间信息科学及可持续发展应用中心目前有正、副教授共19人，青年教师16人，博士后4人，博士、硕士研究生30余人。其中有国家海外高层次引进人才学者1人，长江学者特聘教授1人，长江学者讲座教授1人，杰青3人，海外杰青1人，优青2人，国家海外高层次引进青年人才3人，上海海外高层次引进人才2人，新世纪百千万人才工程国家级人选2人，测绘领军人才1人。2010年以来同济大学投资4200万元用于中心的平台建设，并引入国际一流的科研环境和体制，开展具有核心竞争力的高水平研究和应用；全球海平面上升、极地遥感和全球变化研究是中心主要的研究方向之一，具备较强的研究实力和研究积累，且与美国俄亥俄州立大学和伯德极地研究中心等国际学术机构有着紧密的国际合作。团队教师和学生参与了我国第35次、36次、38次、39次、40次和41次南极科学考察。
